Hunter is a forensic autopsy technician and the resident forensic anthropologist at Forensic Medicine Associates. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Hunter developed and published an Honors thesis titled "Adults Matter Too: An Examination of State Adult Missing Persons Policies and Procedures to Implement a Best Practices Handbook." This work, which addresses the adult missing person epidemic, provides a comprehensive handbook to aid investigators in locating missing adults and includes an extensive resource guide. The thesis earned the prestigious Excellence in Research Award from the Honors College and was presented at the Mississippi Division of the International Association for Identification conference in April 2024.
He interned with the Mississippi State Medical Examiner's Office, working with Dr. Anastasia Holobinko, the resident Forensic Anthropologist. Hunter is also a member of the MS Reunite Missing Person/Cold Case task force, where he collaborates with professionals to advocate and develop better laws for missing and unidentified persons investigations
In his free time, Hunter enjoys hiking in Georgia's state parks, playing pickleball, and spending time with his family and dogs.
