Erin Franchini

Erin is a forensic autopsy technician and a forensic anthropologist at Forensic Medicine Associates. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, minors in Biology and Biological & Medical Anthropology, and a certificate of Archaeological Sciences from the University of Georgia. She also received a Master of Arts in Anthropology from Georgia State University.

Erin has an extensive academic career in the multiple disciplines of Anthropology. She has been on multiple archaeological digs and was a field technician at mortuary archaeological sites. She worked at the UGA Laboratory of Archaeology and the Georgia Archaeological Site File, and she taught Forensic Anthropology as a professor at Georgia State University.

While in her master’s program, Erin applied to intern at the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office. She discovered a love and appreciation for the work and people at DCME, and she acquired a permanent position as a forensic autopsy technician after completing her degree.

In his free time, Erin enjoys playing multiple sports with her friends, working at fencing tournaments as an armorer, and going on adventures with her boyfriend and cat.
