Hannah Coltrain, MS, PA (ASCP)CM, is a board-certified Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) who completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Georgia in 2019 where she studied general biology and criminal justice with a concentration in forensic science. In 2023 she earned a master’s degree from the NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant Program at Wayne State University in Michigan where she served as Class President and completed multiple rotations in both surgical and forensic pathology across the country. Before PA school, Hannah worked at a local medical devices company in Roswell, GA as a sterile tissue processing technician responsible for the generation of human allografts. She is currently a full-time PA at the DeKalb Medical Examiner’s Office where she teaches autopsy procedures to rotating pathology residents, medical students, and PA’s, assists in various administrative duties, hosts a lecture in forensic toxicology, and serves as a liaison between the office and Georgia’s Organ Procurement Organization, LifeLink. Her academic interests include autopsy pathology, postmortem toxicology, and addressing healthcare inequities through education initiatives and data collection. Outside of the morgue, Hannah enjoys reading, hiking, rock climbing, and spending time with her impossibly fluffy cat, Lyra.
