 Marquel Johnson is a Senior Forensic Laboratory Technician at the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office. Welcomed to the Forensic Medicine Associates team in 2016, his role at the office involves meticulous analysis and examination, contributing to the pursuit of justice and the integrity of forensic investigations. He is also an avid participant in the office’s public outreach efforts, coordinating presentations and speaking at various schools and other events in DeKalb County. His journey into forensic science was paved by his educational background from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science. His expertise is further enriched by a diverse professional history that includes experience in funeral service and logistics. Currently, Marquel is expanding his academic horizons as a student at Georgia State University. In addition to his professional achievements, Marquel is deeply passionate about community service with a particular focus on youth advocacy and violence prevention. He works directly with local non-profit organizations to bring his unique perspective to conversations and programs created to combat prevalent issues within the community. His involvement in this critical area reflects his commitment to making a positive impact and fostering safer communities. Marquel balances his professional and community commitments with a fulfilling family life. As a devoted husband and father of three children, he prioritizes his family while managing the demands of his career and community work.
